Gulmarg is the place where you can go helicopter skiing, without helicopter. By the great Mt. Apharwart, right in the middle of the Kashmir valley, lies this remote, scenic, small village - for the moment, the only existing real skiing resort in the worlds biggest mountain range, the Himalayas.

The gondol in Gulmarg elevates you from the village's 2 650 meters above sea level to 3 980. This altitude guarantees that the snow falling in january and february is powdery and perfect. In Gulmarg there is only one type of skiing worth mentioning - the offpist. You can find all kinds of offpist skiing here; mountain skiing from the gondol, world class forest skiing etc.
